A BIT ABOUT KIM
As a child, I grew up on the shores of Grand Haven, with a knack for art & a deep love of nature. Summers were spent cooking hotdogs on the beach, fishing for Blue Gill, and doing the "Nestea Plunge" with my sister, off of the pier at the end of our street. Little did I know then the lasting impact that Lake Michigan's sandy shores would have on my life.
After graduating from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in business, I spent 10+ years in the Southern California and Detroit advertising scene, where I worked with some of the most creative & inspiring minds in the industry. Fueled by the need for a stable work/life balance and a desire to pursue my passion for photography, I became an entrepreneur & business owner in 2009. In the years since, I've continued to build a successful family portrait & commercial photography business, as well as pursue my love of nature photography.
I now live in Boyne City, Michigan, which sits at the Southern tip of Lake Charlevoix, between Traverse City & Petoskey. I adore my community beyond measure and am lucky to call a quiet cabin in the woods my home. The path which led me here has taught me patience, humility and most surprisingly gratitude. After all, I found my way back to my beloved beaches of Lake Michigan.
Isn't it funny how life has a way of showing you the way back home, if you let it?
